About Chantelle Maubert-Stewart
& Deep Dive Therapy
My passion for this work grew out of my life long curiosity to learn to heal myself as well as a love of creativity and connection with others.
My career path has been varied, first leading me to acting, then yoga teaching and finally to obtaining my Master of Social Work degree from the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work at the University of Toronto. I am registered with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers and spent the early part of my career working in community service and healthcare settings.
Growing up in a childhood that at times felt scary and unpredictable, I learned that pleasing others was the best way to control my environment. If no one was upset at me then I could take a deep breath. This anxious way of living seemed to work ok until I had my own children. Unfortunately, it wasn't until I became a mother that much of my childhood trauma was being replayed in my body, feeling rage and anger, followed by not feeling good enough. I started my own therapy using integrative psychotherapy approaches. Since starting this work, I now have the gift of being more regulated and present with myself and those close to me, especially my children. My life's work is to share this gift with others.
My style as a therapist is compassionate and easy going. I also bring in a natural warmth and humour into my sessions.
